Guided Walk: Natural History at Hackfall

Thursday 04 June 2020 11:00 - 15:00

Event No: 50

A five-mile walk, with steep and possibly muddy sections

Venue: Hackfall Car Park

Tickets are not due to go on sale until 09/03/2020.

A five-mile walk, with steep and possibly muddy sections, led by Robert Hall and members of the Yoredale Natural History Society. We’ll walk around the 18th century designed woodland, now conserved by the Hackfall Trust and the Woodland Trust, and the buildings, one of which has been restored by the Landmark Trust. We’ll finish in time to drive to the afternoon concert in Bedale. Dogs on a lead are permitted.

Adult £7, Under 25 £3

Places are very limited so please book in advance. If a walk is sold out, you can call our office to add your name to the waiting list. Please let us know as early as possible if you are not going to use your walk ticket - we can’t offer refunds but someone else may be able to attend in your place. You’ll need sturdy boots, waterproofs and hat. For the longer walks bring lunch and water. Well-behaved dogs are welcome on a lead, unless otherwise indicated. Coins for ticket machines are needed if starting from a car park. Published durations are approximate. We are grateful to Swaledale and Arkengarthdale Archaeology Group, Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority and Yoredale Natural History Society for leading some of our walks, and to Judy & Ian White who have generously supported the walks programme this year.
