A moderate walk to Maiden Castle

Venue: Bus stop in Grinton

Meet at the bus stop in Grinton. A moderate walk to Maiden Castle with members of the Swaledale & Arkengarthdale Archaeology Group, mostly on moorland with uphill stretches and stiles. During a break for lunch at Maiden Castle, participants will have the opportunity to view and handle a selection of prehistoric flint tools dating back over 300,000 years. No dogs please.

Adult £8, Under £3

You’ll need sturdy boots, waterproofs and hat. For the longer walks bring lunch and water. Coins for ticket machines may be needed. Published durations are approximate.
