YOUNG FESTIVAL ARTISTS SCOOP TOP AWARD

A trip to New York - the chance of a lifetime!

  • 7 March 2016

The Royal Northern College of Music Trombone Choir has won the International Trombone Association's prestigious ‘Emory Remington’ Trombone Choir award.

Two of the ace trombonists, including Muker-born Phil Guy, are appearing at this year's Swaledale Festival with the Aether Quintet (St. Mary's Muker, 14:00 to 15:00 Sunday 29 May) as part of our Young Artists Platform.

The prize for this competition is an invitation to perform a concert at the 2016 International Trombone Festival in New York, USA. The players have begun a huge fundraising effort to try to raise the money - just over £10,000 - to be able to go.

For more information and to make a donation, please visit their JustGiving page. Any help you can give these young players would be much appreciated!

Just learned today
The JustGiving page on which the Trombone Choir aimed to raise £3000 towards their trip to New York has reached £3115 and the page has closed. Thanks to all who supported them. And we're looking forward to the two of them in the Aether Quintetat the Festival.
