Victoria Road Richmond DL10 4DW The Georgian Theatre Royal, Britain's oldest working theatre in its original form, is both a thriving community playhouse and a living theatre museum. The theatre seats around 150 people and has a uniquely charming and intimate atmosphere. Built by actor-manager Samuel Butler in 1788, the Georgian Theatre Royal was managed by Butler along with his circuit of northern theatres.
Parking There is free disc parking in the centre of town for up to two hours, and three nearby car parks in Richmond, please check the North Yorkshire Council website for further information. Parking is usually free of charge in the Council car parks after 6pm, but please check this when you arrive.
Access The venue is wheelchair accessible through the lower (left-hand) door to the theatre, and then via a lift to the top floor. There are two wheelchair spaces available in the auditorium, and the nearby carparks have spaces for Blue Badge holders. There is an accessible toilet. A hearing loop is available.
